Treasure Log
This is the condensed version of the actual log sheets kept from every hunt.

Date of last hunt: June 14 - 20 , 2003

Length of hunt: 7 Days.

Location of hunt: The Texas Hill Country.

Equipment used: Shovels, Picks and Sifters.

Items found: Arrowheads and dart points, blades, scrapers, drills, manos and numerous broken artifacts.

Comments: We spent this past week hunting several different sites within a 70 mile radius of Fredericksburg, TX. The sites include a peach orchard, a public park and a few private ranches. We were mainly after arrowheads and artifacts but took a day off from digging to explore some abandoned silver mines. The pictures below show the mines, the peach orchard dig and some of the artifacts recovered.

Heres Matt, not so hard at work, behind the sifter.
Heres a nice Nolan point which was a surface find at a public park near Spicewood, Tx. Approx. 6000 years old.
This point is also a surface find from the park. Most agree that it's a Perdiz.
This point was dug from a midden on a private ranch near Harper, Tx. Possibly an Ensor.
Heres a Perdenales type point from the same ranch. Too bad the tip is broken.
The ranch also yielded this nice blade.
This Mano was a surface find from the park. Also pictured are 2 broken drills from the orchard.
Heres a whole drill from the ranch site.
Assorted scrapers from the orchard and ranch sites.
An assortment of broken points from all of the sites.
An assortment of broken blades from all of the sites.
Some deer bones dug from the ranch site.
Rappelling into the silver mines. These vertical shafts were approx. 120 feet deep.
Using a Garrett 7X with the "Bloodhound" two box depth multiplier attachment. Unfortunately nothing was found.
We weren't alone in the mines. This little Ringtail was quite cooperative for this picture.
